Birds of a Feather has a preferred list of builders for you to choose from for our Southwestern style "duplex-type" Casitas, Econests, and custom built single family homes.
Lot purchasers are obligated to use one of the licensed contractors on our approved list. We will continue to add contractors to the list as they are approved.
Currently, our list contains the following preferred builders;
John DiJanni
has been chosen by Birds of a Feather as one of our builders for casitas and single family homes based on his reputation and our previous direct experience in working with him. John is celebrating over 25 years of building and designing custom homes in Santa Fe. He has built well over 150 homes during that time.

John has built a reputation for time-tested quality construction that is reflected in the fact that his homes are frequently sought after in the resale market. His homes are also energy efficient and solidly built. John has also earned a reputation of "easy to work with" and makes the building and selection process fun.
Robert Laporte of Econest Building Company
Robert, author of Mooseprints, founder of the Econest Building Company and the Natural House Building Center, is a leading expert in earth, straw and timber frame structures. He has been designing and building natural homes for the past twenty years in Canada and the United States.
He has researched natural building extensively in Europe and has been a major influence in the introduction of light staw/clay building to North America. Robert and the Econest Team recently returned to Europe to teach Econest building throughout Scandinavia.
Prull & Associates began serving the Santa Fe area in 1981, primarily performing remodels and additions. In 1984 they designed and built their first custom homes. Their homes have an emphasis on solar design and incorporate both passive and active solar components.
Since then, their work reflects the wide range of architecture available in this area, including Territorial, Pueblo Rivival, Pitched Metal Roofed and Contemporary style homes. Some homes are made of traditional materials such as wood frame, adobe and masonary block, while others have been constructed with poured pumice-crete and straw bales.
Birds of a Feather would also be happy to provide you with a list of our preferred architects.
